Finding jeans when you’re thin and curvy is hard. What fits your hips gaps at the waist. What fits your waist won’t go over your hips. After a lot of trying on, these are the three pairs I actually wear.
The quick answer
- Everyday: The Miro from Citizens of Humanity
- Straight-leg look: The Denim Forum Low-Rise at Aritzia
- Date night: The Nora Trouser from Citizens
1. The Miro from Citizens of Humanity: my everyday jean
The Miro is my everyday go-to, and it’s so comfortable. It’s slightly barrel, but not so much that it overwhelms you. You get the shape without drowning in denim.

2. The Denim Forum Low-Rise at Aritzia: the straight-leg look
This has been the perfect low-rise, straight-leg jean. I wear it when I want the straight look. It hides my curves, which is nice for certain outfits. Sometimes it’s hard to hide the curves, even though we love curves!
I got mine in white to freshen up an outfit during the day.

3. The Nora Trouser from Citizens: for date night
The Nora feels more elevated and elegant than a regular jean. The barrel sits a little lower, so it reads more like a trouser. I love these in cat eye for date night.

Which pair should you get?
Want one pair you’ll wear all the time? Get the Miro. Want a sleek straight leg? Go with the Aritzia low-rise. Want jeans that feel dressed up? The Nora.
